Rivian’s Executive In Charge of Manufacturing Set to Leave

Charly Mwangi, the head of manufacturing processes at electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian Automotive Inc. (RIVN) is set to leave the company. This development comes immediately after the arrival of Frank Klein, who will be taking over as the head of operations starting from June, he will also oversee the oversee production, supply chain and manufacturing engineering.

Mwangi served as the executive vice president at Rivian from May 2020, under his tenure, he brought the R1T pickup truck and R1S SUV to production in late 2021.

Rivian slashed its production target at the beginning of the year, the company says this managerial shake up will strengthen its ability to deepen its relationships with commercial partners.

The company’s chief executive officer, RJ Scaringe, said it would be easy to double their production if there were no supply chain constraints, according to the CEO, global shortage of computer chips has been the main issue affecting production.
