easyJet Set to Cancel More Than 200 Flights

London based low cost airline group easyJet Plc. (LON: EZJ) is set to cancel more than 200 flights over the in the course of this week attributed to airport delays and other restrictions which have disrupted travelling activities during the holiday season.

Following the removal of COVID-19 restrictions, the airline has been facing numerous issues with many airports in Britain struggling to recruit enough ground personnel while easyJet has been grappling with IT related problems.

During the past weekend, the airline announced it would cancel around 24 flights a day from London’s Gatwick Airport between May 28 and June 6. On May 27, easyJet was also forced to cancel around 200 flights citing IT issues.

We are very sorry for the late notice of some of these cancellations and inconvenience caused for customers booked on these flights however we believe this is necessary to provide reliable services over this busy period,” said easyJet.

The airline further advised its affected clients to rebook their flights or receive a refund and if need be they can apply for a compensation in accordance with the regulations.
