Twitter Fined by a Russian Court for Failing to Delete Banned Content

Social media and microblogging platform Twitter Inc. (TWTR) has been fined 3 million roubles ($41,000) by a Russian court for failing to delete banned content from its platform. This development was first reported by Interfax news agency on April 28.

According to Interfax news agency, the court imposed the fine after Twitter failed to delete content banned in Russia including posts with instructions on how to make Molotov cocktails even after the widely used social network platform has received several warnings on the matter.

Previously, Interfax news agency had reported that Russia had fine United States based multinational technology conglomerate holding company Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL) leading $41,000 for failing to remove content banned in Russia from video-sharing platform YouTube.
