Russia Warns United States Against Sending More Weapons to Ukraine

Russia’s ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, has warned United States against sending more weapons. Antonov made the sentiments during an interview with Russia state television, Rossiya 24 , in which he said by the U.S supplying Ukraine with weapons will only escalate the war further.

We stressed the unacceptability of this situation when the United States of America pours weapons into Ukraine, and we demanded an end to this practice,” said Antonov.

Ukraine’s President Volodomyr Zelenskiy has been requesting the United States and her European allies to supply them with heavier arms and equipment following invasion by Russia which has so far claimed the lives of thousands and left millions displaced.

Antonov says they have already sent an official diplomatic note to Washington explaining the fear by Russia that actions by the U.S and her allies in Europe will only escalate the matter further and result to more casualties.

In the beginning of the week, U.S top diplomat the country’s defence secretary met with Ukrainian President Zelenskiy in Kyiv and pledged assistance worth $713 million for the government of Ukraine and other countries in the region.

Earlier in the month U.S President Joe Biden announced an extra $600 million military assistance to Ukraine expanding the catalogue of the systems provided to include heavy arms and equipment.
