AT&T Appoints Jeff McElfresh as the New Chief Operating Officer

American telecommunication company and the largest provider of mobile telephone services AT&T Inc. (T) has appointed Jeff McElfresh as the new chief operating officer at the company. McElfresh has previously served as the head of the company’s business unit.

This appointment comes as the company is increasing its efforts to refocus on its connectivity business after the merger of its WarnerMedia unit with Discovery Inc. The COO position has been vacant since July 2020 following the promotion of former COO John Stankey to the chief executive position.

McElfresh has been working for AT&T for over two decades, most recently he served as the company’s head of communications.

Last week, the company posted its first quarter results in which it registered a 2.5% increase in revenue for its core phone and internet business.

The company attributed this rise to the benefits it derived from the expansion of fiber internet and 5G services.
