Embattled Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou Says They Are United More Than Ever

Meng Wanzhou, the embattled chief financial officer of giant Chinese technology company Huawei Technologies (HWT) has said that the company is now more united more than ever. Wanzhou made these sentiments during the company’s first set of results since her return to China after spending almost three years under detention in Canada.

Over the past few years our teams have undertaken a lot of pressure, and along this process we have become more united and our strategy has become clearer,” said the CFO who also revealed that Huawei has become more capable of dealing with uncertainty.

Meng was arrested back in 2018 following accusations by the United States that she had attempted to sell equipment to Iran an action which was in direct violation of sanctions imposed to the country by the U.S.

Thereafter, the U.S imposed a string of trade sanctions on Huawei the company was posing a national security threat to the U.S Among the sanctions included barring Huawei from undertaking any 5G project in the U.S.

It’s now six months since Meng resumed her role at Huawei, she says that for this period she has been learning and trying to catch up as much as possible.
