Some Governments Wants Starlink to Block Russian News Says Musk

Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of SpaceX, which operates satellite internet constellation called Starlink claims that some governments wants Starlink to block Russian news from its broadband.

Musk took on Twitter to make these revelations further claiming the governments involved do not include the Ukraine government.

Starlink has been told by some governments (not Ukraine) to block Russian news sources. We will not do so unless at gunpoint. Sorry to be a free speech absolutist,” Tweeted Musk.

In addition, musk said Starlink will be SpaceX was reprioritized to cyber defense & overcoming signal jamming and this will result to slight delays in Starship & Starlink V2.

A few days ago, Musk has send out a warning that it’s highly likely that Starlink could be targeted in Ukraine. In the beginning of last week, Musk announced that Starlink serve is active in Ukraine and that more terminals were en route to provide internet connections in case of any disruptions.
