Starlink Active in Ukraine After Russia Disrupts Internet Says Musk

Elon Musk, founder and CEO of SpaceX has confirmed that the company’s Starlink satellite broadband service is available and fully active in Ukraine following disruption of internet services to the European nation following invasion by Russia.

Musk made the revelation as he was responding to a tweet by a Ukraine government official who wanted Musk to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations. Musk said SpaceX is sending more terminals to the country.

Starlink service is now active in Ukraine. More terminals en route,” tweeted Musk.

Internet connection in Ukraine has been affected by the invasion by Russia who is also their immediate neighbors. According to internet monitors, the most affected areas include the southern and eastern parts of the country where the war has been the heaviest.

@elonmusk, while you try to colonize Mars — Russia try to occupy Ukraine! While your rockets successfully land from space — Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people!” tweeted Ukraine’s vice prime minister, Mykhailo Fedorov.
