Lucid Recalling 203 Cars Citing Potential Safety Issues

U.S based electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid Group Inc. (LCID) says that it will be recalling over 200 cars of its premium sedan due to potential safety issues. The company made this announcement on February 3 which was followed by a slight share price plunge.

According to the announcement, Lucid said there is a chance that the front seats strut damper, a part it uses the suspension of its sedans were improperly assembled by its supplier.

So far, the company is not aware of any instances of the part failing in its sedans, however, the company expects 1% of the 203 possibly affected vehicles which may have the incorrectly installed part.

Back in September, the EV maker started building a $169,000 variant of its electric sedan following a long lasting delay resulting from quality issues. Since then, the company only delivered a limited number of cars.
