Visa Reaches Global Agreement Deal With Amazon Over Transaction Fees

Financial services company and facilitator of electronic funds transfer across the world Visa Inc. (V) announced that its card will be accepted in all sores and sires of leading retailer Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) following a global agreement between the two companies.

Visa is pleased to have reached a broad, global agreement with Amazon. This agreement includes the acceptance of Visa at all Amazon stores and sites today, as well as a joint commitment to collaboration on new product and technology initiatives to ensure innovative payment experiences for our customers in the future,” said Visa’s spokesperson.

Less than three months ago, Amazon announced that it would stop accepting Visa credit cards issued in the UK citing high transaction fee charged by Visa. However, earlier in the year, Amazon made another announcement saying it’s working with Visa to arrive at a solution on the matter.

We’ve recently reached a global agreement with Visa that allows all customers to continue using their Visa credit cards in our stores,” said Amazon.
