HBO Max to Launch in 15 Countries Across Europe Next Month

Mass media and entertainment company Warner Media LLC announced that its subsidiary HBO will be launching its HBO max streaming service in 15 European countries on March 8. The countries will include Romania, Poland and Portugal.

HBO max streaming initially entered Europe last year in October after the company launched it in the Nordics and Spain offering promotional offers aimed at attract customers from other similar platforms like Disney+ and Netflix.

In Eastern Europe and Portugal, apart from an attractive monthly price, customers signing up during the launch offer will get 33% off from the regular price for life,” said the  head of HBO Max International, Johannes Larcher.

In Portugal, the monthly subscription fee for HBO Portugal was 4.99 euros ($5.59) and HBO max will be priced at 5.99 euros per month. However existing subscribers plus new sign ups in March will have to pay 3.99 euros per month. Existing customers will be getting the slashed prices for life.

“We only started launching HBO Max in new markets in the middle of last year and added almost 8 million subscribers outside the U.S. in 2021,” added Larcher.
