Meta’s Head of Communication John Pinette is Leaving the Company

John Pinette, the head of communication at technology company running various social media platforms Meta Platforms Inc. (FB) announced that he will be leaving the company. The company’s spokesperson said following Pinette’s departure, the vice president of international communications, Chris Norton, will be taking over as the new head of communication on interim basis.

“John Pinette has left Meta. We are thankful for his positive contributions during an intense and significant time in the company’s history, and we wish him well going forward,” said the spokesperson through an emailed statement.

According to data from the company’s official website, Pinette was appointed Meta’s vice president of communications back in April 2009 when it was still known as Facebook Inc.

Before joining Facebook, Pinette worked as the head of communications for Gates Ventures, the private office and innovation lab of Bill Gates, for five years. Additionally, he has also served as the head of Asia Pacific communications for leading search engine Google.
