Times Magazine Names Elon Musk 2021 ‘Person of the Year’

The Times Magazine has named billionaire, founder and chief executive officer of Tesla Inc. (TSLA) Elon Musk, 2021 Person of the Year. The year will always remain dear to the company since it’s a year when Tesla became the most valuable car manufacturer in the world.

The market valuation of the company rose past the $1 trillion mark this year surpassing the market value of fellow United States car manufactures General Motors (GM) and Ford Motor Corp (F) combined.

The magazine’s editor-in-chief, Edward Felsenthal, said Musk deserved the award for his exceptional solutions to current problems and coming up with possibilities which have forever changed the tech space.

For creating solutions to an existential crisis, for embodying the possibilities and the perils of the age of tech titans, for driving society’s most daring and disruptive transformations, Elon Musk is TIME’s 2021 Person of the Year,” said Felsenthal.

According to the magazine, the ‘Person of the Year’ represents someone who affected the news or our lives the most for better or for worse.
