Meta offering Deferral Program for Wokers Not Ready to Return to Office

Leading tech company running various social media platforms Meta Platform Inc. (FB) will be reopening its United States offices come January 31. The recently rebranded company, however, says any employees who will not be ready to return to offices by then will have an opportunity to defer their scheduled return by 3 to 5 months.

The company says that the office deferral program will grant its employees much needed flexibility in returning back to working from offices. Meta will also be abiding to its initial plans that employees who can work from home can request for full-time remote work.

We recognize that some employees aren’t quite ready to come back. We continue to offer a variety of options to choose what works best for them, so our employees can make informed decisions about where they work,” said the company’s vice president of human resources.

This development comes at a time when multiple companies have been reconsidering and pushing back working from offices due to the increasing spread of the dangerous Omicron coronavirus variant.  Meta says that it’s closely monitoring the situation around the Omicron variant.
