Snap Hires First Managing Director of Global Carrier Partnerships

Social media company Snap Inc. (SNAP) announced having hired its first head of telecom carrier partnerships as it seeks to increase its growth outside the United States. The company has been constantly improving its android app in its wider plans of increasing its international reach.

The company has appointed Anne Laurenson to serve as its managing director of global carrier partnerships. Previously, Laurenson was working for Google where she led strategy to grow the android operating system in Middle East, Africa and Europe through partnerships with telecom carriers and mobile manufacturers in the areas.

Laurenson will be working from Paris and she will go down on record as the first Snap executive to work for the company from outside the United States.

Outside the United States, android are the most used smartphones hence the reason why the company has been giving attention to its android app. The company is now seeking to increase its growth rate by partnering with phone carries in countries including India where recently, the company announced having reached 100 million monthly users.
