Apple Poachers Former Tesla Engineer in Efforts to Improve its Autonomous Driving Unit

United States tech giant Apple Inc. (AAPL) announced having hired, Christopher Moore, a former engineer at leading electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Inc. (TSLA) in efforts to advance its autonomous driving unit.

This development was revealed by insider sources that declined being identified because the company is yet to make the announcement public.

This news was first posted on Bloomberg Business News who claimed Apple made this move in efforts to boost its self-driving unit as the company is seeking to expand its labor force developing its autonomous vehicle.

Around two months ago, former Apple’s head of car project, Doug Field, joined American car manufacturer Ford Motor Co. (F) as the chief advanced technology and embedded systems officer at the company.

Previously, Apple announced that it will be advancing its autonomous driving car technology further targeting 2024 as the year it will produce its passenger vehicle which is set to come with some cutting edge battery technology.
