Facebook to Employ 10,000 Workers in the European Union Over the Next Five Years

Leading social media company Facebook Inc. (FB) has revealed that it’s looking forward to employ 10, 000 workers in the European Union over the next five years. The company says these workers will assist in building Metaverse, a nascent online world in which users will exist and communicate in shared virtue spaces.

Back last month, the company set aside $50 million towards building the metaverse. Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg has been mostly involving himself with engagements on the matter in recent times, he believes this will be a remarkable step especially now high ranking video game developers like Epic Games and Roblox Corp. (RBLX) have shown interest in the project.

This investment in new jobs is a vote of confidence in the strength of the European tech industry and the potential of European tech talent. Europe is hugely important to Facebook,” said Facebook.

Not long ago, Facebook announced that it was assembling a product team to work on metaverse which will be part of Facebook Reality Labs.
