The United Sates Department of Justice (DOJ) has resumed talks with the embattled chief financial officer of Huawei Technologies, Meng Wanzhou and her lawyers regarding resolving criminal charges leveled against the CFO.
These talks are concerning an agreement which could allow Meng Wanzhou return to China. The embattled CFO was put under arrest in Canada after she was found guilty of giving misleading information concerning Huawei’s business operations in Iran.
The CFO was arrested back in 2018 at Vancouver International Airport after the United States issued an arrest warrant against her.
According to a report on the matter, the U.S government is planning to extend an extradition request and a criminal proceeding against the Huawei’s CFO if she pleads guilty and pays a huge fine.
The CFO has always maintained that she is innocent on the matter, since her arrest, she was put under a house arrest with round the clock private security which she pays for as part of her bail agreement.
