Tesla Sold 44,264 China Made Electric Vehicles in August

Leading electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Inc. (TSLA) sold a total of 44,264 China made vehicles in the just concluded month of March of August. Tis information was revealed by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

According to the data from CPCA, 31,379 of the vehicles were exported while the rest were sold locally.

These sales represent a significant rise of 12,885 considering the company only sold 8,621 in the month of July. Nonetheless, this number seemed to back the company’s sales patterns in which Tesla sales are relatively lower in the first month of each quarter.

Around two months ago, the company introduced a cheaper version of the Model Y in China. Additionally, it also lowered its starting price for the Model 3 sedans.

In recent times the United States based electric vehicle manufacturer has been facing increased scrutiny from both Chinese regulators and public. The company has also been facing fierce competition from local EV manufacturers who have been making major steps to level up.
