Hackers Steal Personal Data of 7.8 Million T-Mobile Users

United States based wireless network operator T-Mobile US Inc. (TMUS) has revealed that hackers who compromised their systems made away with personal data of about 7.8 million postpaid current customers.

The company further said investigations on the matter age going aiming to reach at the root of the matter. The company came to know of this attest attack last week following claims from an online platform that personal data of its users was leaking.

According to T-Mobile, data from about 850,000 prepaid customers and over 40 million records belonging to former of prospective customers were also stolen.

The breached data included customers’ first and last names, date of birth, social security numbers, and driver’s license information, but there was no indication of their financial details being compromised,” said the company.

The company further assured that it was confident that the entry point used by the hackers during the breach has been closed.
