North Korea Belittles U.S Hopes For Talks

North Korea has ridiculed United States for having hopes that leaders of the two countries will meet and have talks. On June 22, a senior official of North Korea’s ruling party, Kim Yo Jong, who is also the sister of leader Kim Jong Un, said that the U.S appears to be interpreting North Korea in a way which will result into a disappointment.

She made the ridicule while giving a statement through the state owned media KCNA. These words came inform of a response to sentiments made two days ago by U.S National Security adviser Jake Sullivan, who said he saw an interesting signal during a recent speech by Kim Jong Un on preparation for both diplomacy and confrontation between U.S and North Korea.

It seems that the U.S. may interpret the situation in such a way as to seek a comfort for itself. The expectation, which they chose to harbor the wrong way, would plunge them into a greater disappointment,” said Yo Jong.

This press statement come moments after United States and South Korea agreed to consider doing away with a controversial working group established to coordinate their policy towards North Korea.
