Spotify CEO Daniel EK Contacts Arsenal Owners For a Takeover Bid

Billionaire entrepreneur, co-founder and CEO of Spotify Technologies SA (SPOT) Daniel EK is said to have contacted the owners of famous England based football club Arsenal FC in regard to buying the London based English Premier League club.

This was revealed by retired football player former Arsenal player and legend for the club Thierry Henry. According to Forbes, Arsenal is currently valued at $2.8 billion.

He (Ek) already reached out (to the Kroenke family) and said himself that he had collected the funds to make sure that he can put in a good bid. They now need to listen. A lot of people have been screaming that they want the owner out. We are trying to offer a solution involving the fans and getting the DNA of the club back,” said Henry on Sky Sports.

While making the announcement, Henry together with others former Arsenal club players including Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp expressed their total support to EK’s bid to purchase the club which seems to have lost its glory.

Arsenal is currently owned by American based owners, Kroenke and the club’s director Josh gave a joint public statement on the matter claiming they are, and,  have always remained focused on the club and they will remain 100% committed to it.

Director Josh and Kroenke further added that they are not interested in selling their respective stakes in the club.
