Kimberly Goldwin Poised to Become Next President of ABC News

The executive vice-president of CBS News Kimberly Godwin is set to become the next president of ABC News, the news division of mass media and entertainment company Walt Disney Co. (DIS).

Citing a media report released on April 9, negotiations between Walt Disney and Kimberly Godwin are on their final stages with the possibility of being concluded soon, meaning anytime Godwin might be assuming her new office.

Godwin also doubles as a TV producer, she has over 14 years’ experience working for CBS news in different capacities. She is also the first black woman to head a broadcast news division.

Godwin will be taking over from former ABC president James Goldstone who stepped down from the position on March 31 after working for the company for 17 years. According to a memo sent to fellow employees, Goldstone said he will be venturing in new things following his resignation at ABC News.
