Year on Year Car Sales in Britain Declines by 36%

The pandemic indeed affected movement of individuals in the UK, since the pandemic set foot Europe has been one continent which has been imposing lockdowns after lockdowns in efforts to combat rapid spread of the deadly virus.

These movement restrictions significantly affected the transport and automobile industries. Britain has recorded a year on year car registration decline of 36% from February last year up to February 2021.

Citing preliminary data released by the industry body, the Society of Motor Manufactures and Traders (SMMT) due to lockdown measures impose across Britain showrooms in the country were forced to close down their businesses.

According to records, this this is the lowest vehicle registration volume levels recorded in a February month since 1959.

SMMT said it will publish the final data on February 4.
