Russia Accuses U.S of ‘Anti-Russian Lunge’ following New Sanctions

Late evening on March 2, Russia’s foreign ministry made a public statement accusing United States of a “hostile anti-Russian lunge” following the new string of sanctions imposed to Moscow by the administration of President Joe Biden.

We will respond based on the principle of reciprocity, but not necessarily symmetrically,” said Russia’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova .

Earlier in the day, President Biden imposed sanctions to Moscow as a punishment to what his government described as Russia’s attempt to poison opposition politician Alexei Navalny with a nerve agent an occurrence which happened last year.

In addition, Moscow said without a doubt the new line of sanctions will harm the relations between Washington and Moscow further.
