American mass media company Discovery Inc. (DISCA) is looking forward to have 12 million streaming subscribers by the end of February. Since the pandemic began the company has been recording increasing numbers of new streaming subscribers due to movement restrictions imposed across the world to reduce spread of the deadly virus.
Discovery Inc. operates a group of lifestyle and factual television brands including Animal Planet, TLC, Science Channel, and Discovery Channel.
The company launched a new entertainment streaming portfolio discovery+ in January, currently the portfolio has over 55,000 real-life TV episodes from various platforms owned by Discovery such as Food Network, Animal Planet and HGTV.
The company says discovery+ will be available across 25 countries recently it was launched in Ireland, UK and India.
