Social podcasting app Breaker announced that it will be acquired by widely used social network Twitter Inc. (TWTR). Following the acquisition breaker will shut down its website and app in the coming week.
“The Breaker team is joining Twitter! We’re excited to build the future of public conversations. Breaker will be shutting down on Jan 15,” posted Breaker on its Twitter account.
In a detailed blog post, Breaker said individuals are able to transfer their subscriptions to other podcast listening apps including those offered by tech giant Apple Inc. (AAPL) and Spotify Technology (SPOT).
The financial details of this acquisition deal are yet to be revealed.
The chief executive of Breaker, Erik Berli took on Twitter expressing how they are inspired and happy to be joining Twitter.
“Here at Breaker, we’re truly passionate about audio communication and we’re inspired by the ways Twitter is facilitating public conversations for people around the world,” said the CEO.
