Roper Eyeing to Purchase Vertafore for $5.5 Billion

U.S based software manufacturer Roper Technologies Inc. (ROP) has expressed interest to purchase private equity owned insurance software vendor Vertafore Inc. sources linked with the matter are valuing the potential deal at $5.5 billion.

If the deal sails through, then it will be the ever largest acquisition deal by Roper giving the company an enlarged base to expand its operations even amid the hard hitting pandemic which has affected many businesses around the world.

The sources says Roper is geared towards closing the deal as soon as it can happen in fact the company is expecting to finalize everything before the month wraps up.

Vertafore is owned by Bain Capital and Visa Equity Partners, several other private equity companies are competing with Roper in an auction for Vertafore.

Roper has its headquarters in Sarasota, Florida and it has a market value of $46 billion. The company has been making several strategic acquisitions which have seen it grow beyond bounds. Just to mention a few Vertafore has made acquisitions in food, transportation, healthcare, education and energy sectors.
