Amazon Expanding Operations in Australia

Leading online retailer Amazon Inc. (AMZN) has announced its upcoming plans of expanding its operational activities in Australia. The company will be building a warehouse in Sydney, additionally it will be looking for a strategic location around Melbourne suitable for establishing a giant facility.

In a different stock exchange filing, Australia based Brickworks Ltd (BKW) said it was in advanced talks with a client regarding establishment of a warehouse near Sidney in a joint venture in which the partners will have a 50-50 ownership.

The joint venture will incorporate industrial property company Goodman Group (GMG) as a partner. Brickworks declined revealing the name of client involved in the joint venture. CEO of the company, Lindsay Partridge said Brickworks’ industrial property unit has been performing exceptionally well.

We have the Coles warehouse which has been announced to build and we are in advanced discussion with another major client,” added the CEO.

When pressed to clarify if by ‘major client’ he meant Amazon Partridge said that’s the speculation.
