Instead, it will pay discounts to the employees, who work in shifts during the Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday. The largest retailer in the US has received criticism for this attitude. Amazon and Target will pay their workers for the time and additional half pay for each hour worked on these days.

Over 165 Million shops on Thanksgiving Day

Over 165 million people in the US will shop on Black Friday and Thanksgiving Day. Walmart keeps its shops open on these days and begins the sale at 6 PM on Black Friday. Other large retailers like Trader Joe’s, Costco, and Barnes & Noble close their shops to allow the workers to stay with their families on the national holidays.

15% discount to Walmart workers
